Ebony and Ivory

This post contains no ebony.

Did The Ivory last night and struggled. Wouldn’t say I completely bombed but I wasn’t very good. It was a gong show and I lasted 1 min 57 seconds – I think the timekeeper was being generous. Still, makes you realise that your material needs more work….. which it will get.

Found the crowd very unresponsive. Does not bode well unless I change something – there were people there who remembered the 70s and the 80s but didn’t really go with it….. I can’t imagine they were fans of Margaret Thatcher, that would be quite mental.

So we beat on …….

Rob Kane, Mark Davies, and The Hobbit did well; in fact, Rob Kane won it.

Last night was the first time I’ve seen Mark Nelson and I thought he was very very good. The exemplary comedian, Vladimir McTavish, headlined the gig and was, as ever, brilliant.
